Enjoy fluffy, vibrant bread with a rainbow swirl. Simple prep, gluten-free, and great for parties or fun mornings.
# Components:
→ Egg Mixture
01 - 3 large eggs, separated
02 - 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
03 - 3 tablespoons cornstarch
04 - 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar (optional, for stability)
05 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
→ Color Additions
06 - Red, yellow, blue, and green gel food coloring, or preferred selection
# Method:
01 - Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Using a clean mixing bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add granulated sugar, continuing to beat until stiff, glossy peaks are achieved.
03 - In a separate bowl, thoroughly combine egg yolks, cornstarch, and vanilla extract until smooth.
04 - Carefully fold the egg yolk mixture into the whipped egg whites, maintaining as much volume as possible.
05 - Portion mixture evenly into individual bowls for each desired color. Apply a few drops of gel food coloring to each portion, gently folding to integrate color without deflating the batter.
06 - Spoon colored batters in adjacent dollops onto the prepared baking sheet to form a rainbow pattern. Optionally, use a spatula to softly swirl for a marbled appearance.
07 - Place baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until set and lightly golden.
08 - Allow bread to cool on baking sheet for several minutes before transferring. Serve immediately for optimal fluffiness.
